The Full Story
Many children find it difficult to play football to their best and often find they can't hit the ball correctly meaning they can't pass the ball properly, shoot to score as they would like or even begin to
pretend they can take a free kick like Beckham.
It is astonishing how often a 'simple pass' turns into a horrible mistake and the other team gets the ball and scores. It's embarrassing for your child, his team mates blame him and - well - you can imagine how he and you feel too.
Few children discover at an early age how to hit the ball correctly, where to hit it and how to make the ball work wonders for you. Their early football years become ordinary in most cases and a bad memory in a few.
Why Most Children Make Mistakes
What is the reason so many of our children are bad at football and find they can't play to their best because of it? Why is it some cannot score open goals, lift the ball, hit the ball sweetly or even make a decent pass? And why do so many children get their feet tangled and confused just when you think they're about to score or make a great pass?
The reason for the deficiency is clear. Imtiaz Jamil discovered it in tests which he ran at his own football academy, Striker Academy. Most children are not good at football simply because they never form good habits when they are younger.
What Did Jamil Do At The Academy
The forming of a good habit comes only from constant practice. Beckham, you can be sure, never sat down and waited for it to 'just happen'. No one who is great at football believes it 'just happens'.
Football is our national sport and an industry so vast and incredible has built around the sport that it permeates our daily lives. You can't go anywhere without hearing about football.
Yet our junior football coaches, by misguided training have made football a difficult task - an impossible skill to learn, instead of one of the most fun and rewarding games to play! For years it has been a
crying disgrace.
But you cannot just blame the coaches because most are parent helpers and not qualified coaches and just want to help their child's football club.
And there possibly lies the difference between Imtiaz Jamil and junior football clubs! Here is an example: A few years ago Imtiaz was invited to test The Targetizer at Manchester United's Cliff Training Ground. The very same training ground that developed David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and countless other household names.
Imtiaz watched the United coaches use The Targetizer in various ways. He offered his input to make sure the coaches were well aware of the task - to see IF The Targetizer IMPROVED passing and shooting technique.
The coaches came back with a unanimous decision.
In just a few training sessions the children at the Cliff Training Ground had been encouraged to aim at the corners of the goal. They had been
challenged further by the changing of the targets to progressively smaller ones, making it more difficult to hit them AND when compared to kids who hadn't used The Targetizer, they were more accurate
and got more of their shots on target and in the right areas to beat the keeper.
The coaches saw that the children were now aiming the ball to hit the targets rather than just blasting the ball anywhere.
This meant they had to adjust body position and get their footing right to make an accurate pass into the goal to hit the target.
But this wasn't enough for Imtiaz. So he went to Everton Football Club and tested it there. The results were impressive. Then he took it to Manchester City. Again the coaches were impressed by the quick improvement of their players.
Amazing as the feedback was, more interesting still was the fact that the children were excited about playing with The Targetizer. It was of course like playing a game - who could hit the most targets.
The coaches also reported that the children seemed more focused and tuned in and tried even harder to make sure they hit the targets. And this, remember, they were measuring against using goals without
Targetizer's attached.
The feedback from these professional academies was great but still not enough for Imtiaz.
So he decided to finally use The Targetizer in his own football academy, Striker Academy. A live environment where children of all abilities, from beginners through to elite, would put The Targetizer through its paces - not just for a few training sessions but for a whole 18 months.
And part of the challenge was that none of The Targetizer's used could be changed meaning that the original targets had to last 18 months. It also meant that none of the straps could be changed (that attach The Targetizer to the goal frame).
As well as testing whether The Targetizer increased accuracy and improved technique, Imtiaz was now also testing the longevity of the training aid.
Could it really last and withstand all that hitting? Week-in-week-out the same Targetizer's were used and used, again and again over a 78 week period.
An estimated 9360 shots were recorded as direct hits.
Solid, hard hits that would sting the hands of even the toughest keeper.
And in all types of weather conditions - indoor, outdoor, blazing sunshine, extreme cold, rain, sleet, wind, the lot.
Those very same Targetizer's are still being used at Striker Academy to this day.
None of the targets or straps have been changed. And that's why Imtiaz now gives The Targetizer his mark of approval and confidently gives every Targetizer a 5 year guarantee, totally free of charge.
But back to the story...
The basic principle of Imtiaz Jamil's Targetizer is habit forming. Any child can learn to score goals properly by constantly using this training aid.
But the question arises: how are you to know that your child is picking up good habits whilst using The Targetizer? The Targetizer solves this problem in a simple, unique and sensible way.
100% Self-Correcting Device
Suppose Imtiaz himself were standing forever at your child's side. Every time they skewed the ball off target, aimed for the middle of goal instead of the corners, every time they approached the goal without confidence and verve, every time they took a shot without knowing before hand where it was to go, they could hear him whisper:
"Why not try it like this or do it like that."
In a short time - just like the children at all those professional academies and at Striker Academy - your child would habitually start hitting the ball correctly, hitting it on target, hitting it where it's difficult for the keeper to save and hit it with confidence.
If your child continued to make the same mistakes over and over again, each time patiently he would tell them what was the right way to do it. He would, as it were, be their very own private football coach - a coach who would not laugh at them, or taunt them or shout at them but on the contrary, support your child.
The 100% Self Correcting Device is the accompanying DVD* and it does exactly this thing. It is Imtiaz Jamil encouraging your child every step of the way, ready to correct technique and to build your child's confidence so whatever they practice in the garden can be transformed
into match winning opportunities on the pitch.
Imtiaz shows you exactly how to use your Targetizer in the accompanying DVD*. He takes you and your child through numerous accuracy getting, technique improving and confidence building games that are designed by him to get your child to discover the secret to scoring goals quickly and becoming a better football player.
When you use the games with your Targetizer, you'll soon find how easy it is to improve your shooting, passing and free kicks.
And once you find that you can hit the large yellow targets you can move onto the blue middle sized targets and eventually onto the small red targets. Because the fun is in the challenge. And the challenge to hit smaller and smaller targets will make your child more accurate and more confident.
Only 10 Minutes a Day
There lies another secret to how this wonderful training aid helps develop children. The bright and colourful targets are a great visual aid, especially for younger players, and help with co-ordination and muscle memory which are vital for good football players.
Great coaches know that a child that can pass the ball properly is already half way there to shooting the ball correctly.
But you don't need a great coach to tell you this.
Watch any Premier League game and you'll see the best strikers in the world literally passing the ball into the net.
And once your child learns this skill and learns it with accuracy and proper technique they'll be miles ahead of their peers, classmates and friends.
You may even have the local coach calling to discover what your secret is!
But seriously, once your child learns this technique - and it's not difficult, infact it's made very easy to learn as you'll see in your DVD* - they will have made a very considerable step towards becoming a good football player.
When the learning of goal scoring is made this simple, it becomes very clear that progress can be made in a very short time span. No more than ten minutes a day is required. Ten minutes, not of boring study, but of fascinating practice! Imtiaz Jamil's students do their 'home work' in any spare moment they can snatch. After school, before tea, on the weekends and all in the comfort and safety of their own back gardens.
They take time spent from a 'usual' kick about in the garden and turn it into a accuracy fueled ten minute training session. The results really are phenomenal.
And that's what your child will become. One of Imtiaz's students. You will have the support and guidance from one of the UK's most sought after youth coaches, coaching your child at home. You will have his warm and friendly coaching style encouraging your child every step of the way. And anything that you miss you can simply hit the rewind button and watch and listen to again. You have total control.
It's an incredible way to have a world class coach be your child's mentor and helper.
Those who have taken advantage of Imtiaz's coaching have gained something so priceless that it cannot be measured in terms of money.
They gain confidence beyond their years, self belief rarely seen in players so young, and a wonderful attitude and aptitude to learning
about becoming better individuals and better football players.
As for material reward, Imtiaz has helped players get into some of the country's top professional youth academies, including Manchester United and Charlton Athletic etc.
Being good at football is great for your child's self esteem and self respect. When others hear of your child's accomplishments it makes them and you feel important, boosts their confidence even more and is one of the marks of success in our society.
